Making Life Easier When On The Go

As a mom I am always looking for shortcuts or just easier ways in general to get things done.

When I’m on the go ~ anything to make my trip out more efficient is a bonus. Or also anything to make my errands a little more FUN always helps too!

When I go grocery shopping, a task that I dread, I treat myself to an iced latte or cappuccino as a little treat to myself.

Here are some other tips I have come across to speed up my time away from home…

~ Planning ahead. Making lists about where I have to go, what I need to bring with me and what I need to do or buy at that place. I’m a list girl!

~ Make a Schedule with a route. Keep in mind traffic and how to get from here to there the quickest way. I don’t want to be zig-zagging all over town for my errands

~ Bring your own cloth bags. You’re not only saving the landfill but you can help bag your purchases and carry your belongings in and out of the car easier too!

~ GPS ~ since we’ve moved to three different cities in three years it is sometimes to hard to find my way. My GPS has saved me countless minutes as it leads me in the right direction.

~ My new SmartPhone has helped me more than I ever thought it would. I can add my lists to it, check my bank account if I’m iffy on how much money is in there, and let my kids play games. Yes that is a time saver too as they stay out of my hair!

~ Keeping extras in the car. Extra wipes, extra clothes, extra sunglasses, extra books, toys, snacks, the list could go on. If I’m prepared than everything runs more smoothly!

~ First aid kit and keep it stocked with lots of bandaids! You never know when you will need it and it will come in handy!

~ AAA for towing, battery loss, or discounts. We have saved TONS of time and money with our membership.

~ When you find cheap(er) gas fill up the tank and keep an eye on the gauge. It’s awful to be on low while trying to find the lowest priced gas.

~ Stay at the task on hand. It’s easy to get sidetracked, but if you stay with your schedule then things with go more efficiently.

I know sometimes it gets to be hectic and crazy so hope some of these little tidbits might help ya a bit. I’d love to hear how you make your outings more efficient too!

Funky Monkey Snacks

I love when food has fun names. Introducing Funky Monkey! Definitely a kid name huh?

We have just recently gotten into the dried fruit scene. Don’t know why I didn’t buy them sooner because they are such EASY and healthy snacks! Especially for on the go. The other day I was at Whole Foods where I was first introduced to Funky Monkey. I was attracted to not only their name, but their fun colors and individual sized packages. Perfect for the diaper bag!

Funky Monkey Snacks are gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free, nut free, and contain no added sugars, colors, flavors or preservatives. They are vegan, raw and certified Kosher. A few are organic too!

Why I love this crunchy company…

Their freeze-dry method uses a cashew shell powered boiler to use less energy. You heard me right!

All leftover fruit parts like the peels and cores are used as fertilizer or animal feed. No waste!

They have lots of yummy flavors to choose from!

Our favorite is Carnival Mix which contains freeze-dried organic bananas, pineapple, apple & papaya. The small 42oz bag is one serving of fruit that we gobbled down in no time flat. It was nice and crunchy, tasted sweet and yummy, and we wanted more!

O’Bear wanted me to tell you that his favorite was actually the JiveALime ~ pineapple with lime. He is my lemon-lime boy and he gives it the thumbs up!

Be sure to check out Funky Monkey‘s website. It is very fun! You can order directly online, buy off Amazon or find it in a store near you. Oh, let me share their Facebook page too where you will find deals!

Does your family eat dried fruit? What flavor sounds the best to you?
