An Easy Meal While Having Fun Wrapping!

This shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser #HolidayMadeSimple where easy meals are made. All opinions are mine alone.

I often feel guilty that I do not like to wrap presents. I like the pretty paper and matching bows and love seeing how others become so creative, but the actually doing I just don’t love. I did not get this from my mom who loves to wrap and always goes over and above. It must have skipped a generation because my boys love to wrap. And I let them do it all!

California Pizza Kitchen

This week to plan ahead, I headed to Walmart to grab a CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN Crispy Thin Crust Frozen Pizza in BBQ Chicken flavor for an meal to make while we gathered together for a day of wrapping. Made with premium ingredients like vine-ripened tomatoes, Fontina cheese, and extra virgin olive oil, it was something quick and easy and a food I knew they would all like because I didn’t want any complaints during our fun!

We made an afternoon of it and this weekend was perfect because it was a snowy day and we were snuggled inside. We popped the pizza in the oven for an easy meal. I placed all boxes that needed to be wrapped on the table along with wrapping paper, bows, scissors, tape.

My two younger boys need me to pre-cut the paper to the right size and it is extra handy when I cut tape strips ahead for them to easily grab. Other than that, I basically let them go! I’d be called over to help tighen corners or for an extra tricky item, but otherwise they do a pretty good job.

There was all smiles when the pizza was done, an added bonus for all of that ‘work’!

I even have an Instagram video of a little live action!

Do you ever have a flavorful moment where an easy meal is needed?

Do you like to wrap presents or is it just me?!

I will tell you that having yummy food always makes everything better. 🙂

The New Faces of Heart Health: Santa and Mrs. Claus

Heart disease is a major deal in my family and something that I need to watch closely. Since this cause is close to me I love seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus inviting Americans to join them from a heart healthier holiday as they raise awareness this season.

More than 25 percent of the U.S. population is living with heart disease!

“It saddened Santa and me to learn that not only are 80 million Americans living with heart disease, but also that the number of heart attacks increases over the holidays,” said Mrs. Claus. “Santa and I want to set a better example when it comes to nutrition, so we’re making our grocery list and checking it twice to focus on heart healthy foods and dietary habits, and we’d like to invite families across the U.S. to join; from our hearts to yours.”

In hopes of paying the inspiration forward, Mrs. Claus made a rare public appearance via video message from the North Pole, encouraging families to swap out Santa’s oatmeal raisin cookies for, well, just raisins and chocolate chip cookies for dark chocolate.

Mrs. Claus also created to house all of her nutrition tips and exclusive interviews with nutrition and health experts. The site will be updated throughout December to help Americans have a happy, healthy holiday season.

Love it!
