Food Network Star Comes Back for 11th Season this Summer

I think I’ve said this before, but it is still true. When my kids want to watch something ‘grownup’ on tv they turn to the Food Network shows. I makes me laugh everytime and we all get a little addicted as our eyes are glued on the tv while they mix and bake.

Food NetworkFood Network competition series Food Network Star returns for an eleventh season this summer! With a cast of twelve talented hopefuls competing to become the next new face in food television. Who will it be?

Food superstars, Giada De Laurentiis (love her!) and Bobby Flay are back as mentors/judges, joined this season by a roster of top-notch special guests and judges. In the biggest audition of their lives, the finalists battle in a series of unique challenges designed to determine who has the personality, on-air charisma and cooking skills to win the ultimate prize – their own show on Food Network. Wow!

Exclusive web series Star Salvation also returns, giving one eliminated contestant the opportunity to rejoin the competition.

Food Network Star will premiere on Sunday, June 7th at 9pm ET/PT and the winner will be crowned in the season finale on Sunday, August 16th.

“Each season, our viewers love following the journey of Food Network Star contestants as they develop from aspiring newcomer to confident pro,” said Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President Food Network. “Having Giada and Bobby guide these finalists along is like watching a master class in food television.”

The All-Star Academy on Food Network

Are you a Food Network fan? If so keep March 1st on your calendar. At 9pm ET/PT is the series premiere of All-Star Academy.

Hosted by Ted Allen with Bobby Flay, Alex Guarnaschelli, Curtis Stone and Michael Symon. Each competitor, with the guidance of their mentor, must compete over eight episodes in challenges that would propose difficulties for even professional chefs, while elevating their culinary skills to make it to the finish line.

Ten talented and successful home cooks from around the country were chosen for the show for the greatest adventure of their lives. Each week they have to impress their mentor and the judge. Sounds exciting!

They are competing for a $50,000 Grand Prize so a lot is at stake!

“Having world-class chefs like Bobby, Curtis, Alex and Michael as mentors is what will take these ten cooks from great to extraordinary,” said Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President Programming, Food Network. “It’s the dream of a lifetime for a home cook.”

I am not great in the kitchen so I need to tune in and learn a few tricks!
