 Winter’s End (Seasons of Faith)

By Rebekah Lyn

Book Two of the Seasons of Faith Series

Musician Michelle Burton just had the best night of her life. Her band Tangled Web opened for Wonderland in downtown Orlando and the crowd loved them. Too excited to sleep she makes a fateful decision to go to work early. The best night of her life turns into the worst day of her life.

Nearby, at boutique Hotel Lago, Stephen Longbottom, acting concierge manager, is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the board of directors for Silken Pleasures, a multimillion dollar company based in New York and specializing in high end cosmetics, fragrances and lingerie. Their incessant demands before they even arrive are driving him to distraction. Meanwhile Lizzie Reynolds, his boss is on a romantic ski trip in Vermont leaving him to manage his first solo event.

Hope, forgiveness and love are an integral message throughout the book and like a fine tapestry the threads of God’s master plan for the character’s lives are woven into a fabric of great storytelling, conflict and humor.

Readers who came to know and love the characters of Summer Storms will enjoy catching up with Lizzie, Stephen, Michelle, Jeffrey and Ian.

I Wonder if my Church is like a Church in Houston?

I love my church. I feel so blessed every week when we go that my family has found such a great place to praise the Lord. For the first time in my life, I wake up excited to attend every Sunday morning.

I wonder if people feel the same about this Houston Church?

We walked into service a couple of weeks ago and all the chairs were placed different. Usually, it looks like a typical church service with everyone facing the front towards the alter or stage. This day, all the seats were placed in a big circle and they had built a platform stage to put in the middle of the room. What the heck?

They were shaking things up! Our series for the next month was called ‘Christianity is not what you think’ and we were encouraged to invite our friends and family to experience our church for a few weeks to find out what we’re all about.

It is weird sitting like that, looking at people across from you, but at the same time it is very neat! Makes us feel like a big family worshiping together.

One of my favorite things about my church is the kids area. It is divided into three sections. Noah’s Park for the little ones. Kid’s Park for elementary and then the student ministry for middle and high school. Each room is painted to fit the theme and installed with every device to make worship easy and fun! Wish my church was like this as a kid.

My boys enjoy going to church and that means the world to me. Even little P’Diddy likes his church class and it is the only time he is left on his own during the week. Freedom for me! When I pick him up he is thrilled to show me what he made and points to the sticker on his shirt because he remembered his bible verse.

The children are creating good memories that I hope will last them a lifetime.

Tell me ~ do you love your church? Is there a certain aspect you like the most?
