Halloween Baking Championship on Food Network

Food Network is full of Tricks & Treats with their Halloween Baking Championship hosted by Richard Blais. Mark your calendars for Monday, October 5th at 9pm ET for the four episode series.

Halloween Food Network

Halloween is one of the best holidays to get into baking fun. My favorite recipe to do with the kids is making rice krispie treats with orange food coloring and then shaping them into round pumpkins. A short green piece of licorce for the stem tops it off. They are super cute and perfect for a school treat.

Sugar cookie cutouts are another speciality. Grab your fall themed cookie cutters, colored frosting, and lots of different types of sprinkles and candies to create a yummy mess. Let the kids decorate them all and see kind of madness they can come up with!

More about the Food Network show – from spider cupcakes, to cheesecake coffins, to witch finger cookies and mummy macarons, seven of the country’s top bakers compete to create Halloween’s spookiest and most creepy crawly confections. In order to survive this haunted competition, contestants must prove their baking abilities and impress judges Ron Ben-Israel, Carla Hall, and Sherry Yard.

Only one winner will take home the grand prize of $25,000 and the title of Halloween Baking Champion!

It sounds spooooooktactular! Just think of the cool ideas we will get it from watching. The kids will have me in the kitchen baking and creating next month to get in the Halloween mood – which is scary in itself!
