How often do you get flowers?

IMG_0414I know I’m getting old when I don’t really pay Valentine’s Day a lot of attention. In grade school it was my favorite day of the year. I loved writing out my Valentines for my classmates and receiving them in return.

When Hubby and I were dating and even in our first years of marriage, Valentine’s Day was fun. We planned, we gifted, we were romantic. We aren’t that way anymore and it is much simpler this way. No regrets, it’s just the way it is and how I like it.

This year I bought Hubby a card ahead of time (wow I actually planned something on this day!) and didn’t except anything in return except a Happy Valentine’s Day dear and a kiss when I woke up.

It was a day of errands this year for us and our minds were on other things. When we got home late that afternoon, I noticed a packaged at the door. This is not unusual at our house, as boxes come all the time. When I got closer I noticed the word Flowers on the front. oh my!

Hubby surprised me with flowers and I have to admit I kind of liked it. I’m a flower girl and wish I had fresh bouquets in my vases every day of the year. It was easy and affordable for him to order my present online from places like Megaflowers. They arrive fresh and beautiful to put a smile on my face.

When was the last time you were surprised with flowers?

  1. I get them on rare occasions. While I love them, the frugal side of me says we should probably spend our money elsewhere. LOL.
