Bingo Memories

Our favorite travel game when I was a kid was a bingo game. It wasn’t just any ole bingo game, but a really unique style that was perfect for the car – it didn’t have pieces. Even my dad could play as he was driving because you pushed in the slot on your card to make your mark.

Years later I searched and searched online for this game. I didn’t know the name and I wanted to purchase one again for my kids. I finally found it and learned it was called Pop O Matic Bingo. They don’t make it anymore, but you can find some Vintage styles (oh my I am old!) on ebay for not that much money. I always debate whether I should pick up someone else’s old game.

Bingo memories seem to run in our family. Hubby has fond memories of playing bingo with his grandma. She is still alive and in her early 90s. She had to finally quit playing, but let me tell you that she drove to every bingo event around until she possibly could. Even today I wonder if I should share online sites like with her. She doesn’t have to drive or use her hands to pick up small pieces, but can still have just as much fun!

Today, we play bingo with our boys. We have a lot of different varieties from toddler farm animals to the old fashioned markers and boards that I picked up at a resale shop. I think what I like best about the game is that you can love it at any age, from just learning your numbers to great great grandma years. Everyone can gather around the table and let the memories fly!

Do you have any bingo memories you’d like to share? Or another game that your family plays often?
